Event Description

CAPHRA's Fall Half-day Summit

Let’s play a game: match the words below to the workforce values that you think best describe Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials/Gen Y, and Gen Z.

Hard-working                  Work-life balance            Entitled                 Tech-savvy

Willing to Sacrifice           Requires Stability            Global-minded       Hierarchical

Expects Flexibility            Resistant to Change        Technoholic           Job for life

For the first time in history, today’s workforce reflects five different generations working side-by-side.  Significant historical and socioeconomic factors have shaped the values, characteristics, and motivations of each generation and their views and attitudes towards the workplace.  HR professionals are working with the most multi-generational workforce in history and it isn't as easy to balance the various career aspirations and work incentives as matching words from a list.

CAPHRA is holding a half-day summit on November 7, 2018, from 8 AM to 12 PM at PEMA Headquarters, 1310 Elmerton Avenue, Harrisburg.  Come join your CAPHRA colleagues as Deborah Vereen guides us through an exploration of the generations and, most importantly, how to CONNECT with each generation.  What are their values, their approach to work, communication, and teams?  What do they expect from colleagues, supervisors and their organization?  How do we pivot between the generations?  How do we apply this to Talent Development, Talent Management, Organizational Management, Employee Relations, and each area of HR?  This half day summit will provide you practical tools to help you CONNECT and improve your effectiveness with individuals from every generation.

This event, which includes a continental breakfast, is only $35 for CAPHRA Members and $45 Non-members.
