Due to PSECU’s contract with SODEXHO, no outside food or drink is permitted at this event. Therefore, PSECU will provide a complimentary catered lunch (sandwiches, tossed salad, chips, cookies, and bottled water) for ALL participants, which will begin at 11:45 AM.

PSECU Headquarters security will require you to show ID to enter. For those with a Commonwealth ID you only need to show the ID and sign in. For non-Commonwealth employees please show a state-issued identification and you’ll receive a visitor’s badge.
Cancellation Policy:
We get it; things happen and plans change. However, as registrations determine the amount of food prepared, please kindly notify CAPHRA of your need to cancel before the stated cutoff date. If your need to cancel occurs after the cutoff date, we appreciate it if you find someone who can fill your seat. Keep in mind, non-members attending on behalf of a member will still need to pay the non-member price.

Personal Kanbans are a simple, adaptable tool to help you organize, prioritize, and plan your tasks and events.  Based on a technique traditionally associated with manufacturing continuous improvement efforts, the Personal Kanban is an effective tool to battle overload through a focus on doing the right things at the right time.  In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to use the Personal Kanban to make your backlog visible, provide clarity on outcomes, balance planned and unplanned work, and communicate actions.

Jennifer McClain-Miller, Continuous Improvement Manager, Nordstrom

 

As a Continuous Improvement Manager for Nordstrom, Jennifer is responsible for designing and implementing a Continuous Improvement (CI) Program for Nordstrom’s East Coast Fulfillment Center.  Her work supporting CI leaders throughout the supply chain network includes developing and conducting training on Continuous Improvement principles, concepts, and tools such as 5S, Problem Solving, Standardized Work, Training Within Industry, and Kanban.  Prior to accepting this role in 2018, Jennifer served as a Director of Business Transformation for DEP and the DMVA.  Jennifer’s professional background includes Commonwealth Human Resources Employee Relations and Classification, retail store management, constituent service for the Pennsylvania House and Senate, and service in the US Army.  Jennifer is proud to be a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College with a degree in Psychology and a Minor in Asian Studies.  A dedicated member of CAPHRA since 2008, Jennifer has held a variety of roles with the Board since 2012.
